FAQ

We are excited to accommodate first-time players, and those relatively new to the sport plus 3.0 players in our Novice Clinics with the Novice-Clinic Pass.   The Pro Clinics are best for 3.0 players and higher.  The ladders are ideal for 2.5 to 5.0+ players, and we do not recommend these tournments for new players. 

Overall, players at the same level will be grouped together on the courts for all clinics and the ladder tournaments.

Cancellations for all purchased tickets (except Spectator Passes) prior to January 1, 2024 will be entitled to full refund, minus $25 administration fee.  Refunds minus the $25 fee will not be provided for cancellations after January 1, 2024, unless we are able to fill your slot with a waiting list candidate.

Too few registrants:
If you have purchased a ticket for an amateur or Pro-Am ladder tournament and it does not reach a minimum of 16 players, the tournament may be cancelled for that day.   We will notify all ladder registrants of any ladder event cancellation via email or text with as much advance notice as possible.

• For the affected amateur ladder registrants, we will strive to move you into to another ladder event during Jan 3-7, 2024, or provide you with a credit amount to apply the balance towards other 2024 ladder events held at the Monterey Bay Racquet Club.  

• For the affected Pro-Am registrants, if the tournament cannot be rescheduled or operated to completion, we will use our discretion and best efforts to provide a reasonable alternative Pro-Am experience, such a Play With the Pros experience and/or provide a partial refund. 

In the event of inclement weather delays, interruptions, and cancellations:
We will do our best to operate the events below on another day during January 3-7, 2024, or at our rented indoor facility nearby and another backup venue. 

Otherwise, we will provide a partial refund or credit amount that can be applied to a similar experience.

Please note that:

•  Spectator Passes:  Pro pickleball players will train at a nearby indoor facility.  Spectator tickets will still be valid.

• "Play With Two Pros":  Purchases will still be valid and will be conducted at an indoor facility, unless otherwise notified.

• Pro Clinics:  Will be held at a nearby indoor facility and will be conducted unless otherwise notified.

• Novice Clinics:  Will be rescheduled potentially on a future date and will be conducted unless otherwise notified.

• Open Play Passes:  We will provide you with an Open Play credit amount to apply the balance towards other 2024 Open Play visits to the Monterey Bay Racquet Club. 

• Amateur Ladders:  For ladder registrants, if the tournament cannot be rescheduled, moved indoors, or otherwise cannot be operated to completion, we will strive to move you into another ladder event during January 3-7, 2024, or provide you with a partial refund or credit amount to apply the balance towards other 2024 ladder events held at the Monterey Bay Racquet Club.  

• Pro-Am Ladder Tournaments:  If the Pro-Am tournament cannot be rescheduled, moved indoors, or otherwise cannot be operated to completion, we will use our discretion and best efforts to provide a reasonable alternative Pro-Am experience, such as a Play With the Pros experience and/or provide a partial refund.

Age 8 is the minimum age for participating in our clinics, ladder tournaments, and open play at MBRC.  Children age 12 and under must be accompanied at the venue at all times with a parent or guardian.

All activities at the MBRC courts require all participants to sign our waiver in person upon check-in.  Here is a copy of the waiver for your review.
